The popular size MAX-E systems come fully-equipped with all the essential gear, allowing you to quickly set up a new tank and enjoy its beauty without worrying about component selection and compatibility.
Every piece of equipment incorporated in the MAX-E systems was designed on the basis of Red Sea’s 30 years of research on the needs of corals in artificial environments, resulting in optimal coral growth and coloration.

Surface Skimmer
The surface skimmer enables highly effective filtration by ensuring that only water from the aquarium surface is passed to the rear filtration compartment. The surface skimmer is easily removable for periodic cleaning.
Integrated Power Center
The MAX-E incorporates the one-plug MAX concept, and features a power center with easy access to 7 individually switched power sockets for all system electrical sub-components. The power center is conveniently located in the cabinet and enables safe and easy control of all of the MAX-E sub-systems.
ReefLED Lighting
The Red Sea MAX-E series incorporate the ReefLED 90 light, that has a light intensity and spectrum that is 100% utilized by the corals, ensuring optimal coral growth and coloration. In addition, the ReefLED 90 has a Moonlight channel to provide low levels of light for reef-safe nighttime viewing
Rotatable Rear Sump Screen
The rotatable screen allows easy access to the rear filtration compartment sump, while ensuring that the aquarium’s aesthetics are undisturbed.
Ultra-Clear Glass
The MAX-E systems have a rimless design and are made from 12 mm ultra-clear glass, which provides a superb viewing experience
Protein Skimmer
The MAX-E skimmers have a 900 lph/239 gph water flow and 250 lph/66 gph air flow, implementing Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC criteria and passing the entire water volume through the skimmers approximately 3 times per hour (with a 3 to 1 water to air ratio), which provides sufficient filtration for even the most delicate SPS corals.
Multidirectional Eyeball Nozzle
The filtered water returns to the display tank via a multidirectional, adjustable eyeball nozzle, ensuring there are no stagnant spots within the aquarium.
Media Rack
The rear sump includes a convenient media rack for Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC™ Carbon (which is supplied with the MAX-E), as well as extra shelves for the easy addition of other chemical filter media.
Bubble Trap Sponge
The bubble trap sponge prevents air bubbles from returning to the aquarium.
Circulation Pump
The MAX-E comes with a 2,150 lph/568 gph Sicce return pump, which implements Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC criteria and circulates the entire system water volume about 10 times an hour.
Chiller Installation Kit
The MAX-E has a dedicated area for a chiller pump, and comes with a convenient connection bracket for the chiller piping (chiller and pipes are not supplied with the system).
Marine-Spec Cabinet
The MAX-E is available with a marine-spec laminate cabinet fronted with weatherproof epoxy painted doors, convenient push openers and soft close stainless steel hinges. MAX-E cabinets are offered with black or white exteriors.
Carbon
Both MAX-E series models are supplied with 100 grams of Red Sea’s REEF-SPEC carbon, enough to maintain crystal clear water for the first 2 months.
